According to the American Diabetes Association, in 2007 (which is the most recent data they have), 7.8% (23.6 million) of the people have diabetes... That's roughly 8 in 100 people.
So how do you know if you have diabetes?

- Exhaustion typically caused by an imbalance in blood sugar
- Dark areas on the skin with creases, typically in the armpits, groin and neck
- Recurring yeast infections
- Impotency
- Weight loss or weight gain
- Sometimes nausea
- Dry mouth
- Blurred vision (If your blood sugar goes too high, fluid can be pulled out of the eye lenses which will sway vision)
- Having to urinate a lot (Excess sugar builds up in the bloodstream because some of the glucose can't get to the cells... So fluid is pulled from the tissues in your body which also may make you constantly thirsty.)
- Sores on body that can look as if pimples... That heal gradually (could consequent due to the fact that the body has gone a long time without insulin)
- Sometimes sores fabricate on the feet... And since a lot of times, nerves are damaged from the diabetes, a man with diabetes might not observation the sore(s) on the feet.
Going back to damaged nerves, a lot of diabetics fabricate diabetic neuropathy which results in an insensitivity or tingling... A lot of times in the feet... To heat, cold and pain.
